New DPT Student Orientation Program

Once students are accepted in to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program, they are required to attend a three day New DPT Student Orientation Program during the week prior to the start of classes in the fall.

Orientation goals include becoming familiar with staff/faculty, departmental policies and procedures, discussing study skills and habits, and team-building as a class. The program includes scheduled Physical Therapy Departmental activities as well as open time for students to complete registration, take care of finances, get their student IDs, and buy books.

They are also welcomed by the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the Dean of the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions.

The last day of orientation is filled with a fun and relaxing kayak trip to Ayers Creek with TAs and faculty.
