2nd year DPT students participate in annual UMES Health Festival
The 2nd year DPT students participated in the annual UMES Health Festival on Wednesday, April 20, 2016. For the first time, the 2nd year DPT students were paired with UMES Pharmacy students to facilitate interprofessional learning activities. The students educated the community on osteoporosis, deep vein thromboses, back pain and posture, walking aids, running shoes, ergonomics and many other topics. Participating in the Health Festival provides the students the opportunity to have hands-on experience with health promotion and community health, an important role of all health care professionals. This is a valuable skill for their future clinical practice.
