Jennifer Hamilton, P.T.,D.P.T.,C.H.T.
Jennifer is a 2006 graduate of the UMES Physical Therapy Program. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Salisbury University in 2002.
Jennifer became a Certified Hand Specialist (CHT) in 2012. In order to obtain the 4000 hours of direct practice that is required in order to be eligible to sit for certification exam, Jennifer after finishing her work day would volunteer at a local clinic with her mentor, a Certified Hand Specialist. Jennifer’s hard work and commitment to her professional growth paid off, when she sat for the 4 hour CHT exam and passed it on her first attempt. The CHT exam has a 50% pass rate and only 15% of the world’s CHT certificates are held by Physical Therapists.
Jennifer and her husband William (also a UMES DPT graduate) opened their own Physical Therapy clinic, Hamilton Physical Therapy, in 2019. Prior to opening her own practice, Dr. Hamilton was the Clinical Director for Tidewater Physical Therapy Rehabilitation Associates in Salisbury and Pocomoke.
Jennifer is an adjunct instructor for the UMES Physical Therapy Program teaching Clinical Medicine III-Orthopedics, PT Procedures III- Musculoskeletal, and Tests and Measures. Jennifer has hosted many PT students on their part-time integrated clinical experiences and many on their full-time clinical experiences or affiliations. She shares her specialized skills with the student physical therapists, as well as, sharing her kind, compassionate, and confident approach to the care of her patients which inspires the students.
