Cardiopulmonary Laboratory

The Cardiopulmonary Laboratory is utilized for both teaching and research purposes. Students utilize this laboratory in the following courses: Exercise Physiology, Therapeutic Exercise, Patient Management Courses – Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, and Exercise Testing and Prescription for Special Populations.

The student participates in laboratory activities such as:

  • VO2 Max Testing
  • Determination of Resting Metabolic Rate
  • Stress Testing
  • EKG Recording and Interpretation
  • Pulmonary Function Testing
  • Plethysmography
  • Skeletal Muscle Oxygenation
  • Ankle-Brachial Index

  • YSI Glucose/Lactate Analyzer              
  • Monark Cycle Ergometers
  • Sphygmomanometers, Stopwatches, etc.
