In the spring semester the 3rd year DPT students participate in an Aging Simulation Workshop with Audrey Wahl and Jean Baker from the Eastern Shore Area Health Education Center (AHEC). To enhance the learning experience the DPT students portray their own image of themselves as a retired older adult as evidenced by the pictures below.
The workshop allows the students to rotate through several simulation stations which depict age-related changes in the sensory systems. The students gain valuable insight and appreciation for the adaptive devices needed to insure that older adults live independently and safely in the community.
