The UMES Department of Physical Therapy has established an impressive record of research activity. Thanks to well-equipped laboratories and on-going collaborative relationships with local hospitals, physical therapy clinics, and other universities, both faculty and students of the department have presented their research findings at annual local, state, national, and international conferences including the conferences of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American College of Sports Medicine. These research findings have been published in peer-reviewed scientific and professional journals.
