Postdoctoral Objectives:

  • Complete preparation of manuscripts 1 and 2 for publication.
  • Conduct fieldwork to collect fish and invertebrate samples, blue crab, and water samples for use in different research at LMRCSC in UMES laboratories.
  • Perform laboratory analyses to process and study collected samples.
  • Collaborate on research with Dr. Deshpande at NOAA, Sandy Hook, NJ, Lab to detect the effects of the environmental factors on blue crab lipid composition in Maryland Coastal Bays.
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in research activities.
  • Attend and participate in professional meetings and workshops for NOAA, LMRCSC.

Publications in Process:

  • Levels of heavy metals in sediments from the anthropogenically impacted Maryland Coastal Bays and the associated dead-end canals.
  • Heavy metal concentrations and bioaccumulation in blue crab (Callinectes sapidus) hepatopancreas and muscle tissues in the Maryland Coastal Bays in relation to temperature.
