Allissa Riley graduated with a B.S. degree in Agriculture from Virginia State University in May 2024. She began studying for her M.S. degree at University of Maryland of Eastern Shore in August 2024, in the Department of Food Science and Technology, with Dr. Salina Parveen, transferring into the Ph.D. program in December 2025. Her thesis involves determining and comparing the prevalence of Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Vibrio vulnificus in wild and farmed oysters. Post-graduation, Allissa plans to work in food regulation.
