Jennifer Herrera is an LMRCSC fellow at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science – Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology. For her thesis research, she is working on identifying the blue crab virome across the species’ United States geographical range. More generally, Jennifer is interested in studying how climate stressors and disease affect shellfish populations on physiological, genomic, and epigenetic levels.
