Jahlen Pinelo earned a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of California, Riverside, in June 2023. In August 2024, she joined the LMRCSC at Hampton University, where she is working under the mentorship of Dr. Jeanette Davis in the Marine Biology and Environmental Science Department. She aims to become a senior research scientist and eventually a professor at a community college. She is passionate about science communication, particularly making ocean science accessible to those who lack access.
