Jennifer Herrera graduated with a Master’s degree from the MEES Program at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science – Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology in May 2025. For her thesis research, she identified the blue crab virome across the species’ United States geographical range. More generally, Jennifer is interested in studying how climate stressors and disease affect shellfish populations on physiological, genomic, and epigenetic levels.
