Semaj Fielding of Charleston, South Carolina, earned her B.S. degree in Environmental Science with a concentration in Marine Science. Prior to attending UMES, she completed research with the Department of Natural Resources of South Carolina where she focused on Macrobenthic Biodiversity in Tidal Creek and Open Water Habitats of South Carolina from 1999-2016. Over the summer of 2018, Semaj was a Geoscience intern at UMES where she analyzed nutrients in water samples from Chesapeake and the Maryland Coastal Bays.
Semaj is studying law at the Southern University Law Center (SULC) to become an environmental lawyer.
