Bio:

Dr. Vandana Kanakamedala, PT, DPT received her B.S. in Physiotherapy from N.T.R university, India, Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Oakland University, Michigan, and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Michigan-Flint. Dr. Kanakamedala is an APTA certified Clinical Instructor. Prior to joining UMES as an Assistant Professor, in 2023, Dr. Kanakamedala had 15-years of clinical experience in a wide range of settings: In-patient Rehabilitation, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Level 1 Trauma Center/Hospital, and Home Health/Community centers. Research interests include cerebrovascular accident and brain injury rehabilitation, promoting inter professional collaboration in healthcare, and applicability of integrating biopsychosocial models in care delivery.
