Doctor of Physical Therapy Students participate in ‘Day on the Hill’

On February 28, 2013, the 3rd year Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students (Class of 2013) traveled to Annapolis to participate in the “Day on the Hill” sponsored by the Maryland Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).   The UMES DPT students, faculty held meeting with delegates, senators, and their staff to discuss current issues that interest physical therapists in the state of Maryland.  The UMES DPT students specifically met with delegates Norman Conway (District 38B) and Charles Otto (District 38A) and the staff of Senator Mathias.

It was a good experience since I finally got a glimpse of the lobbying process that PTs and hundreds of other groups do to support their views on bills in the government.” 3rd year DPT student
