Victoria Moreno is a former Graduate Research Assistant of Oregon State University. In 2021 she earned her masters degree in Public Policy. Her research explored the intersectionality of environmental change in marine ecosystems and corresponding human effects within the coastal communities. Specifically, her research aimed to inform policy to support the adaptive capacity of coastal communities along the West Coast. Victoria’s most recent project upon graduating was investigating how Oregon’s Dungeness crab industry members perceive their adaptive capacity to ocean acidification.

Prior to becoming a Graduate Research Assistant at OSU, Victoria was an undergraduate student at the University of Richmond. In addition to conducting research, she heavily participates in the Black Women in Ecology, Evolution, and Marine Science organization, where she serves on the content creation team. Ms. Moreno was awarded the is a 2022 John A. Knauss fellowship. The prestigious opportunity will allow for her hold the position of Special Assistant to the Assistant Administrator in NOAA’s Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research Division until January 2023.
