Kyarii Ramarui

Kyarii is a PhD student in the MEES graduate program at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science-Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (UMCES-IMET). She is working in Dr. Yantao Li’s lab studying algal biology and biotechnology. Specifically, her research focuses on the green microalga, Haematococcus pluvialis, and investigating ways to cultivate this species on an industrial scale for antioxidant production. Kyarii earned her BS and MS in Biological Sciences from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).
