Leianna Jones participated in the Geosciences Bridge Program in the summer of 2022. Her project focused on the abundance and distribution of Grass Shrimp and White Shrimp in the Maryland Coastal Bays. After completing the program, she enrolled at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore to pursue a degree in Environmental Science with a concentration in General Ecology.
In Fall 2023, Leianna became an LMRCSC Undergraduate Fellow to pursue her B.S. She engaged in research on coastal ecology under the mentorship of Dr. Stephanie Stotts.
