Conduct original research, take field trips, attend seminars and workshops, and build relationships with expert faculty and graduate students.

Applications are open for the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Living Marine Resources Cooperative Science Center (LMRCSC).

With the guidance of a faculty mentor, interns conduct research projects in one of a wide range of marine science topics, participate in field trips, and attend seminars and workshops related to science careers. The program provides housing, meals, travel costs and a $7,000 stipend.

All college students interested in careers in marine science are encouraged to apply, but preference will be given to rising sophomores and rising juniors. The number of positions will depend on current funding availability.

The internship program will run from June 3 – August 9. Applications will be accepted through Thursday, Feb. 29. Apply here.
