Forum Planning Committees
Executive Committee: Responsible for making final decisions needed for successful planning and execution of the Forum
Members: Jacqueline Rousseau, Audrey Trotman and Natasha White (NOAA EPP/MSI), Paulinus Chigbu and Margaret Sexton, (UMES & LMRCSC)
Steering Committee: Oversee other committees, receive information from chairs of the other forum committees and ensure the forum plans are being implemented in a timely manner
Members: Directors of the CSCs (P. Chigbu, Richard Long/Michael Abazinge, Fred Moshary, Sen Chiao), Distinguished Research Scientists (DRS) of CSCs, LMRCSC-II PIs; NOAA EPP/MSI team (J. Rousseau, A. Trotman, N. White) and LMRCSC-II Deputy Director (M. Sexton)
IT Support Committee: Ensure all IT requirements for the Forum are met, including audiovisual equipment, wireless email access in each meeting room, and charging stations for electronics
Members: Alex Kessie (LMRCSC Coordinator for Data and Budget Management), Dr. Dennise Ruiz-Ramos (LMRCSC scientist), Rob Lopez (Director of Information Technology), and NOAA EPP/MSI team.
Campus Security Committee: Make reservations for parking lots for Forum guests, assign a security officer to the Forum, who will work with student volunteers and other staff to provide directions to parking lots; and provide a phone number with which to contact UMES campus security, in case of emergency

Transportation Committee: Make transportation arrangements for people staying in hotels; post information on the Forum website regarding Bay Runner Shuttle services from Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) airport to Salisbury, MD; prepare a transportation schedule

Food Services Committee: Use the number of persons who registered for the forum to make arrangements for food services
Members: Ms. Ida Tilghman, Ligia DaSilva (UMES), M. Sexton, Thompson Hospitality (UMES Food Services provider) and NOAA EPP/MSI team
Hotel Reservations Committee: Reserve rooms at selected hotels in Salisbury, MD, and Fruitland, MD; periodically provide reports on the number of rooms available and make adjustments; develop packets for hotel registrants and deliver them to hotels for distribution during hotel registration; provide information to the Transportation Committee on hotel reservations

Communications Committee: Develop forum communication strategies, prepare press releases, and disseminate information to the public via various print, television and social media outlets
Members: Earl Holland Jr. (UMES Director of Public Relations), Edwin Linderkamp (UMES Social Media Coordinator), Robert Vickers (UMES VP of Communications), Laura Sileo (UMES Director of Agricultural Communications), Kara Nuzback (LMRCSC Communication and Outreach Specialist), Audrey Maran (NOAA Office of Education Communication Specialist)
Technical/Program Committee: Coordinate, along with abstract review chairs and co-chairs (scientists selected from CSCs), the review of abstracts submitted; select and finalize the approved abstracts and the forum program for publication
Members: LMRCSC-II Deputy Director (M. Sexton), the NOAA EPP/MSI team, four subcommittee Chairs (Distinguished Research Scientists for each CSC, OAR liaisons), one for each of the forum NOAA mission goal areas (Weather Ready Nation, Climate Adaptation and Mitigation, Healthy Oceans, and Resilient Coastal Communities and Economies)
Facilities/Meeting Rooms Committee: Make reservations for use of buildings and rooms for the Forum; establish logistics for each day’s food service and set up; identify storage area for items shipped to conference; help to set up electronic poster boards, LCD projectors in all meeting rooms, and microphones in the Henson Center, SSC Theater and Ballroom; set up AV in one of the meeting rooms for the Press conference

Forum Evaluation Committee: Develop and administer an electronic forum evaluation survey, analyze the results, prepare a report, and submit it to the Center Director
Members: LMRCSC External Evaluator (Tina Bishop), P. Goslee (UMES Education Faculty), V. Young (LMRCSC-II Education Expert), and Mark House (External Evaluator for NOAA CCME II and CESSRST II)
On-Site Logistics Committee: Identify graduate students and UMES staff and faculty to increase the number of committee members to at least 15; compile a list of all activities to be executed and equipment needed, and designate persons responsible to set up for each activity; coordinate activities with facilities and IT committees

Committee for Poster/Oral Presentation Judging and Awards: Recruit individuals (scientists from the CSCs, NOAA scientists, CSC alumni) to serve as judges of student presentations; conduct judging orientation; assign abstracts to judges; provide instructions and criteria for judging presentations (scoring rubric); collate results using a mobile app; use scores to determine awards

Student Outreach Committee: Responsible for designing student professional development activities during the Forum; alumni engagement; recruit panelists and presenters; host forum orientation webinar for student attendees
