Daenen Jones earned his B.S. in Marine Science at the University of South Florida in 2021. He is now in a Ph.D. program at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School, with Dr. Elizabeth Babcock as his advisor. He is an avid fisherman interested in developing a Ph.D. project that involves collaboration between scientists and fishermen. After graduation, he plans to pursue a career as a fisheries stock assessment scientist.
