Students are needed for the following UMES Summer Program:

2026 HAWKS MUREP Precollege Summer Institute

The Institute needs:
Two (2) Student Residents (one male and the other female)
Two (2) Student Project Assistants (one male and the other female)

The pay for the period of the Institute are as follows:
Student Resident Assistant (RA) is $2000:00, and
Student Project Assistant (PA) = $2000.00

Successful students are expected to work from Wednesday, July 1 to Friday, July 31, 2026

The HAWKS MUREP Precollege Summer Institute is Residential Program.

  1. Be willing to work with high school students.
  2. Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  3. Preferably be a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) major.
  4. PAs must assist all the Teachers and Instructors with the student participants in all the hourly activities
    every day. They must take photos during all activities and daily send them to the Director.
  5. Be available to accompany the students in all the field trips.
  6. Be available at 8.00 a.m. every day to receive the students and at the end of the day, wait until all
    participants have safely departed to the cafeteria.
  7. RAs must be available to supervise and look after the students all night long and take students to the
    cafeteria in the morning for breakfast and dinner in the evening.

The Deadline to submit an application is Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

All interested students must have an application on file in the Office of Human Resources located on the 1st floor of the Bird Hall Building.
