
Learn how to start your own pasture broiler flock at a tour offered Tuesday, Aug. 4.
The Pasture Poultry Twilight Tour by UMES Extension will be held 5:30-7 p.m. at the UMES Poultry Research and Education Building on the university campus.
Aimed at small farmers, poultry growers and 4-H youth, the event will feature how to start your own pasture broiler flock including housing, type of pasture, nutrition and flock management.
The tour is free to attend but pre-registration is strongly encouraged by Aug. 3 as it is limited to 25 participants.
