The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Extension will host its second Maryland Agritourism Conference Nov. 15-17, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina in Cambridge, Maryland. Please check back later for details about the conference.

The inaugural conference in December 2023, with the theme of Growing Maryland Agritourism, brought together nearly 200 interested parties to identify critical elements to enhance agritourism in the state.

UMES Extension’s inaugural Maryland Agritourism Conference in December 2023, with the theme of Growing Maryland Agritourism, brought together nearly 200 interested parties to identify critical elements to enhance agritourism in the state. Agritourism offers educational and recreation opportunities for visitors and generates income for the farmers, local community, as well as adjacent businesses.

Entrepreneurs, government officials, private sector entities, and educators were able to:

  • Create synergies among agritourism stakeholders.
  • Envision a sustainable pathway for future agritourism development.
  • Identify educational priorities and training opportunities.
  • Determine the critical elements needed to grow this industry for the benefit of everyone in Maryland.
