1. General Admission and Registration
In order to participate in the UMES engineering program through the SU-UMES physics/dual degree program, SU students must apply and be admitted to UMES as transfer students under the SU-UMES dual degree articulation agreement. Students are subject to all applicable UMES admission, registration, and graduation requirements. SU transfer students seeking admission to the Engineering Program at UMES must submit official transcripts from other institutions attended at the time of making application to UMES.
For online application for admission, please go to the following UMES admissions website, please click here.
Please choose “Engineering – Electrical”, or “Engineering – Mechanical”, or “Engineering – Computer”, or “Engineering – Aerospace” as your major.
2. Academic Advising
SU transfer students will be assigned to a major advisor based upon students’ declared specializations in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, or Mechanical. Students are also encouraged to contact engineering faculty to participate in faculty funded research projects and internships. For those SU students in their sophomore years, we also recommend them to contact UMES engineering faculty or program coordinator to receive early advising to better prepare them to make a smooth transition to engineering specializations of their interest.
For general information about academic advising, please contact program coordinator Mr. Iyad Eldin Elfadil at 410-651-8095 or by email ielfadil@umes.edu
