PRINCESS ANNE, MD -September 17, 2019 – Coordinators of the 2019 UMES Fall Community Festival is expecting close to 400 people on the grounds during this year’s event, which is free and open to the public.
“Last year, close to 200 members of the community joined faculty, staff and students for the fun. While things will be a little different this year, we are looking forward to several activities that will add to the excitement of the day. We also look forward to engaging even more members of the community.”
To be a part, participants will need to gather at the new Engineering and Aviation Science Complex on Saturday, September 28, beginning at 10 a.m. Signs will be posted that lead to parking.
Guests are invited to explore interactive and exciting demonstrations that highlight the program offerings and research and outreach activities of the faculty, staff and students within the five schools that make up UMES: the School of Agricultural and Natural Sciences; the School of Business and Technology; the School of Education, Social Sciences, and the Arts; the School of Pharmacy & Health Professions; and the School of Graduate Studies.
The family-focused affair will also include a campus walking tour, a health fair, cooking demonstrations and taste tests, wagon rides around agricultural research fields, a bouncy house, highlights of cutting edge research, games, and giveaways.
