PRINCESS ANNE, MD – (October 6, 2019) – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore holds its first Industrial Hemp Conference Thursday, October 31, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Services Center. The conference is designed to educate and provide its stakeholders with the most updated information about the emerging hemp industry and assist them in being nationally competitive for successful hemp production.
Experts from the industrial hemp industry will provide information on hemp production and processing, marketing and laboratory analyses, and the legal and regulatory aspects of industrial hemp.
Topics to be covered include: Crop Production and Management, Industrial Hemp Processing and Marketing, and Federal and State Regulations for Industrial Hemp Production. A round table discussion features the following UMES researchers: Drs. Simon Zebelo, Naveen Kumar, Benham Khatabi and Sadanand Dhekney. Exhibitors and suppliers will also be onsite.
