Karl Binns Jr., and Alexis Doon are leading in a national non-profit organization as part of its 2019-2020 team of officers.
Binns has been installed as president of the National Society for Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS). Among other responsibilities at UMES and beyond, he serves as lead development officer for the School of Agricultural and Natural Sciences, advisor of the MANRRS Club, and liaison for several attached Jr MANRRS clubs.
Doon, a dean’s list student and rising senior at UMES, is studying agriculture. She is serving as Region 1 Undergraduate Student Vice President on the leadership team.
During their year of service, Binns and Doon will represent the society at various events throughout the nation in addition to serving their local chapters and participating in professional development webinars. In addition, they are responsible for the planning and execution of the regional cluster and the national conference.
