UMES Department of Human Ecology Fashion Institute of Technology Dual Degree Program Option

Fashion students desiring to expand their career opportunities should consider completing the Department of Human Ecology Fashion Merchandising dual degree program in Advertising and Marketing Communications at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City. The department participates in the Fashion Institute of Technology Visiting Student Program. Fashion merchandising majors who meet eligibility requirements may opt to spend one year (junior year) at FIT for an additional degree (A.A.S.) in Advertising and Marketing Communications. Students return to UMES to complete the four-year program and receive both degrees at graduation. Details, including eligibility requirement can be found in the FIT Student Information Packet. Applications are due in January of each year and prospective students must consult with the faculty liaison (Dr. Lombuso S. Khoza; lskhoza@umes.edu) prior to applying to the program. Interested students should meet with the faculty liaison as early as possible, but no later than the first semester of their sophomore year.
