NAEEMAH KITCHENS

Class of 2011

Following her summa cum laude graduation from UMES, Naeemah won a full scholarship to Boston University where she began her pursuit of a graduate degree in African American studies. Her coursework was interrupted when she was selected to receive a highly competitive and internationally prestigious Fulbright English teaching assistantship. Administered by the U.S. State Department, the Fulbright grant program sends the best and brightest Americans around the world as scholarly ambassadors. Naeemah is currently teaching students in Nairobi, Kenya. She plans to return to Boston to complete her master’s program in 2013. Law school is next on her agenda. She has already been offered a scholarship to attend the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
