HORATIO “BILL” JONES III

Bill has been lifelong broadcast journalist. Among other milestones in his career, he was one of the first black TV news anchors on the Eastern Shore. When he was named news director of WBOC TV in Salisbury, Maryland, in the 1980s, he was one of only a handful of African Americans to run a television newsroom nationwide. For nearly thirty years, Bill worked behind-the-scenes at CBS News. When he retired in 2017, He was a producer for CBS Newspath in Charlotte, North Carolina, coordinating news coverage and video distribution among CBS affiliates in the southeastern United States.
