This course introduces the mathematical foundations required to understand discrete-time signals. Students develop fundamental skills in complex numbers, linear algebra, sequences and series, summations, and discrete structures that support modern engineering applications. Core signal analysis topics include representation of sequences, sampling of sinusoids, periodic signals, and introductory Fourier concepts. MATLAB/Python is used to visualize sequences, explore sampling effects, and compute simple transforms. Emphasis is placed on conceptual understanding and practical numerical implementation of discrete time signal analysis techniques in engineering applications.
