3:00-4:30: Invited Talk with author Jerry Mikorenda | America’s First Freedom Rider Did you know that a century before Rosa Parks and the 13 Freedom Riders of 1961, there was a woman in 1854 who refused to step off a horsecar and as a result, was assaulted by the conductor and a NYC policeman? Hear about her lawsuit and her defense attorney who would go on to become a US President!
