PRINCESS ANNE, MD – (May 25, 2018) – The “Be Smart . . . Drench Smart” Small Ruminant Integrated Parasite Management workshop scheduled for Saturday, June 30, has been rescheduled to Saturday, July 28. The workshop will be held at the swine facility on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Beginning at 9 a.m., Dr. E. Nelson Escobar will provide instruction involving the use of the FAMACHA© score card to mitigate or manage parasite burdens common to small ruminants.
During the all-day workshop, participants will study anthelmintic resistance, gastrointestinal parasites that badger small sheep and goats and practices to mitigate or manage parasite burdens. The 3-hour morning session will serve as an introduction for the 3 to 4 hour afternoon hands-on session, which will offer certification on the use of the FAMACHA© score card. The day ends at 4 p.m.
