This is the first semester of a three-semester calculus based course in general physics (see PHYS 262, PHYS 263). Areas covered include laws of motion, energy conservation, linear momentum, collisions, rotation and angular momentum, universal gravitation and fluid mechanics. Registration in the laboratory part of the course is required. Three lectures per week.
Prerequisites: High School Physics and MATH 112.
Co-requisite: PHYS 163. Concurrent registration in MATH 211 is recommended.
