This course has two distinct components. The first component is to introduce the major organ systems of the body with an emphasis on regulatory processes and interactions with other systems. The second component is to implement physical and mathematical models along with engineering approaches to analyze different physiological systems quantitatively. Systems examined in these two components include cellular, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, endocrine, gastrointestinal, and renal.
