The lectures will cover an introduction to space science and spacecraft functionality. The project effort will be organized by the professor, which will acts as a Principal Investigator. The class will be divided in teams and asked to design, develop, test and operate a payload or a pico-satellite in response to a Request For Proposal (RFP) for a tailored mission. The project may be a payload for a BalloonSat or Sounding Rocket launch, or the students may be asked to develop a pico-satellite and enter in the “NearSat competition” organized by AIAA and AAS.
