A course designed to acquaint the student with the complex phenomena that make up the art of our time, ranging from the early 1800’s to the present. Emphasis is placed primarily upon the visual arts of painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery, and the graphic arts. Features specifically, the nature of visual form, the art object, the material and process by which it was formed and the creative process.
