Welcome to the UMES Engineering Programs
The department offers a bachelors’ degree program in Engineering with four specializations: aerospace, computer, electrical, and mechanical since 2007. In fall 2023, the department launched a bachelor’s degree program in Biomedical Engineering, a master’s degree program in Electrical and Mechatronics Engineering, a joint doctoral degree program in Applied Computing and Engineering.
The department currently has more than a dozen engineering professors and staff members with background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, computer engineering, and biomedical engineering to provide instructions and research guidance to undergraduate and graduate students. Most of our graduates in engineering have successfully secured employment in world class engineering companies or chosen to pursue an advanced degree in the field of engineering science.
The Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org, under the commission’s General Criteria and Program Criteria for Engineering, General Engineering, Engineering Physics, and Engineering Science.
