Our mission is to provide superior and safe facilities and grounds while providing excellent customer service to everyone that comes to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore campus. We are a full service Physical Plant organization that takes the overall mission of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in account to everything we do. We are over 120 customer focused professional dedicated to serving the needs of our students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Our services include, but are not limited to:
- Customer service/work control
- Transportation services
- Carpentry/painting/locksmith services
- Heating, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing
- Electrical service
- Package and parcel shipping, pickup and delivery
- Grounds keeping
- Housekeeping, moving, set up for events
- Central heating
- Environmental and occupational health and safety
- Preventive maintenance
- Small/medium construction projects/renovations
The Physical Plant provides an excellent standard of quality in all campus buildings by providing the following:
- Strategic recommendation for the planning and construction of physical facilities
- Employee job skills training through continued education, cross-training, certification programs, and awards and recognition programs
- Effective budget controls on departmental operations
