Brief Description of Program: In addition to laboratory and research activities, students will also participate in field trips to the Salisbury Zoo, Pocomoke State Park, Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science Horn Point Laboratory and the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology, and other facilities, receive instruction in topics such as scientific ethics, library resources for research, experimental design and data analysis, and attend seminars and workshops on such topics as scientific writing and communication. Students present their research to their peers and mentors at a symposium on the final day of the internship.
Eligibility: Undergraduate Students currently enrolled in a STEM program at a College or University.
