The Future is here! The Student Services Center is the heart of the UMES Campus. Its facilities and services contribute to the educational, cultural, recreational, religious and social welfare of the University Community. Designed in 1995 to become a “one-stop-shop” for students needs, this state-of-the-art building has the capability to be fully or partially utilized. Lectures, movies, cultural forums, theatre arts, leadership development workshops, meetings, intramural sports and recreations are just some of the many programs and activities sponsored in the center on a daily basis. Spanning 147,000 square feet, the length of two football fields, the two story building is the home of the Student Government Association (SGA), over 70 registered student organizations, a bookstore, a Recreation Center with both billiards and a bowling alley, a dining hall, a snack bar, lounges, a resource center, a ballroom, a theater and the campus post office. In addition, several administrative and support offices are located in the facility including the Offices of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, Campus Life, Career Services and Auxiliary Enterprises. The center is also equipped with an ATM, which is sponsored by the State Employees Credit Union of Maryland (SECU). Staff in the Office of Campus Life are trained and experienced in conference operations and facilities management to help with your events or to answer questions about university facilities or services.
