Disability Appeal Procedure

UMES is committed to ensuring that qualified faculty, staff, students, and visitors are provided access to all programs and services of the university.  Any person who feels that he or she has been the subject of discrimination based on their disability, or feels the accommodations services provided are inappropriate, should seek resolution through the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance (OIE).

UMES has adopted an appeals process for disability-related matters to ensure a community members rights and privileges are protected. Students are encouraged to contact the OIE for a meeting to discuss the appeal and concern. Employees are encouraged to complete the following Appeal Request Form and to follow submission directions contained in that form.
