Aronia Berry Picking Contest

The campus community and the community at large are invited to participate in an exciting Aronia berry picking contest. Prizes are in store.


Description

Teams of up to four members can compete to win a $200 Amazon gift card and a gift basket brimming with goodies and products made from Aronia. The team with the most berries picked within the allotted time is declared the winner.

Participants get to take home their berries along with some recipes. They will also have the opportunity to learn about the benefits and nutritional value of the plant and sample Aronia berry ice cream.

The contest is being held in collaboration with Dr. Andrew Ristvey, Class of ’93 and University of Maryland Extension specialist for commercial horticulture at the Wye Research and Education Center in Queenstown, Maryland.
