The UMES Extension Food Safety Program Helps Farmers, Small Food Processors and Food Service Keep Our Food Supply Safe. This is accomplished by offering MD GAP, Produce Safety Rule, HARPC FSPCA PCQI, ServSafe, and On Farm Readiness Review programming to assist farmers and small food processors meet regulatory and licensing requirements.
Additionally, the UMES Extension Food Safety Program offers assistance to farmers and processors who are trying to expand their sales with value-added products. We can help you with processing, labeling and navigation of the regulatory requirements of food processing in Maryland. Lab resources are available to assist in formulation parameters, before you
send samples out to certified labs.
