PRINCESS ANNE, MD – Students from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore recently attended the 14th annual Dwight D. Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program (DDETFP) Research Showcase.  Among the participants were MukubiKatowa (graduate student – computer science), Tiffany Jones (undergraduate- aviation management) and Xavier Henry (undergraduate- professional pilot).   Students attended various exhibits from multiple transportation disciplines over the week-long event.  Topics included congestion mitigation, safety and environmental stewardship, emergency preparedness, response and recovery. 

Among the participants from UMES, Katowa was selected to participate in a poster session to discuss his on-going research on Ad-Hoc Network Systems and their application in transportation. 

The Dwight D. Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship Program was established on campus during the fall 2006 semester by the Engineering and Aviation Science department in an effort to promote student mentored research in the field of transportation.
