UMES holds Tri-County College Fair
PRINCESS ANNE, MD-(Nov. 26, 2012) High school juniors and seniors can connect with recruiters from over 100 higher education institutions at the Tri-County College Fair Thursday, Nov. 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the William P. Hytche Athletic Center at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
In its 11th year, the event “gives local students an opportunity they might not otherwise have to meet with representatives from colleges around the country,” said Tyrone Young, UMES’ director of admissions and recruitment. UMES, he said, strives to provide area students with an event comparable to their peers in metropolitan areas.
A variety of schools will be on hand to meet with prospective students. Public and private four-year colleges will be represented along with specialty schools and branches of the military services, Young said. Technical and community colleges will also be present for those who don’t plan on attending a four-year school.
Campus tours and display booths manned by faculty from academic departments at UMES will show local students what the university has to offer, Young said.
Admission is free. Registration is preferred by calling 410-651-8403.
