Why Choose UMES for PGA Golf Management?

Work with experienced faculty

Mentorship is at the heart of our program. You will get many chances to work closely with PGA Golf Management faculty who have years of experience in business management and professional golf. Our faculty members are committed to fostering diversity and social justice throughout sports and society in general and to addressing underrepresentation and issues of racism within sports organizations.

Gain hands-on experience in professional golf management

Our focus on experiential learning is one of the things that distinguishes us from other programs and ranks us among the best PGA Golf Management schools in the country. Every student in the program completes a 16-month internship primarily employed on a full-time basis. You can choose between many facilities, including country clubs, military golf courses, resorts, public and municipal courses, PGA headquarters, and PGA-recognized golf ranges. In the process, you’ll build an impressive resume while earning academic credit and networking with other professionals.

Work in cutting-edge facilities

On the surface, golf may seem like a simple sport, requiring just a small ball and clubs. But the study of golf and the equipment to analyze golfers’ skills and improvement is quite complex. As you progress through the PGA management program, you’ll get expert guidance on using some of the most sophisticated technology in golf. We offer two Trackman Simulators, a Swing Catalyst, an indoor putting studio, and a golf club repair lab.

Earn an accredited PGA Golf Management degree

Our program is accredited by the PGA of America, meaning that the education and experience you receive in the PGA management program meets the highest standards of excellence in golf expertise. This also means that you’ll automatically become a member of the PGA student association and have a voice in the development of the program.
