Student Identification

Student Identification during Didactic and Clinical Years

All students must clearly identify themselves as Physician Assistant students while in the Program including the clinical setting. Physician students are required to wear a name tag that includes their name and identification of Program sponsorship during SCPEs or when required by the program to distinguish them from other health profession students and practitioners. In some instances, clinical affiliations sites will require additional identification and nametags to be worn. UMES nametags will be initially provided by UMES at the time of the Short White Coat Ceremony. Students will also be issued ID cards by UMES that will provide access to various UMES facilities and services. Furthermore, students will have their name as follows “full name, PA-S” and the PA Program patch embroidered onto their short white coats.
