Taking the Placement Assessment for Mathematics Placement:
The initial Placement Assessment is not password protected so it may be taken anywhere. When you are taking the initial Placement Assessment, it is important to take the Assessment seriously and be honest with yourself so that your result will be a true reflection of your current level of knowledge and math preparedness. Before taking the second Placement Assessment, it is important that you utilize the Prep and Learning Module to receive your best possible score. When you are ready to take the placement assessment for placement into a mathematics course, you will need to make an appointment to take the assessment in the Mathematics Assistance Lab in the Engineering and Aviation Science Complex, Room 1060. If you wish to use the initial Placement Assessment for placement into a Mathematics course, you must make an appointment in the Mathematics Assistance Lab before attempting the assessment. For questions regarding making an appointment to take your Placement Assessment, please contact the Mathematics Laboratory Specialist, Mr. Joseph Drummond II, jwdrummond@umes.edu.
