The second Herb Growers Meet-Up will take place Monday, March 24, from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at Fox Haven Farm in Jefferson, MD.
This meeting follows the meet-up from last year during which farmers bonded and learned from each other and experts.
This year, the agenda continues to focus on an exchange of experiences and information among the farmers. In addition, a form of cooperation to be able to grow and sell larger amounts wholesale will be discussed.
Veronica Yurchak from the University of Maryland Extension will share best practices for weed control and prevention without pesticides. William Burks, a Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, will share his experiences with different propagation methods and include practical experiences.
The cost is $10 per person. Bring your own lunch (and breakfast). Snacks and drinks will be provided. Registration is required.
Fox Haven Farm is located at 3630 Poffenberger Road, Jefferson, MD 21755.
